Off to Indiana

This year’s leman vacation took us to Monticello, IN. We traveled out on Wednesday and stayed at Grandma and Grandpa’s. It was fun to be there with just our family.(minus Cameron, who stayed home, and minus Aubrey who stayed at Herrmanns:) On Thursday, Mom and Dad left for Roanoke to pick up A. Karen, and then to Monticello from there. G & G, Taylor, Gabe and I took off for Fairbury, switched vehicles and grabbed the Bluniers…and so on. By supper time we had all made it to Monticello where were ate Monical’s pizza and played kickball. DSC_0469DSC_0502

At times, the game was slow and boring. Other times, the ball was kicked into poison ivy, and across the yard into the baseball diamond.

For a lot of us, this was the first time to see baby Titus. He’s so cute! Between Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, he got held a lot:)

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!DSC_0610

On Friday, we left in the morning to go to France Park. It had a beautiful lake, and lot of woods, where the older kids played Disc Golf. That was fun! I’m pretty sure that we all walked through poison Ivy, but I don’t think anyone actually got it.

While we played Disc Golf, the younger kids played in the beach area.

After we got back, the extended Leman Family showed up.( who are mainly from Bluffton/North)We hadn’t seen them for 6 years! some people changed a ton, and others looked exactly the same:)

This was the biggest of the day I think. I heard that she almost wrapped it all the way around herself!

2014 Fair!

Fair-Day dawned, and we jumped out of bed to eat breakfast and load up! We loaded our animals and headed to seneca.

I really don’t think the goats wanted to go:)

Aubrey’s food was judged Friday morning, she made Pumpkin Pie granola, which the judge really liked, an powerballs again. She got two purples!!!

Cole combed that calf till she shone, but he does’nt want a white one next year because they show the dirt so bad.

I showed my dairy goat, but I was the only one in my class! I got a plaque and a ribbon for Grand Champion, but it was kinda pointless.

Saturday evening, McClain's Mutton Bustin’ Rodeo was in town. Last year, Cole rode here, got 4th and went to NE for finals. This year, he was over the weight limit,(60lbs) but they let him ride again just for exhibition. It was fun seeing all the kids riding, but the sheep were CRAZY and a few of them got hurt.

That was the end of the fair until Monday when Gabe sold his steer. It was a fun weekend, but I can wait for another year before the next one comes along!!! Now, we have to do records. The not-so-fun part of 4-H.
